1. The strategy of the surgical treatment of colon cancer to a considerable extent is defined by a threat of anastomosis leakage. According to the data of Digestive Surgery (2002; 19, 150-155), the leakage occurs at 5-15% of patients. Probability of leakage directly depends on the presence in colon of the infected contents.
"Out of a sample of 247 colon cancer patients with acute colon obstruction treated surgically, postoperative complications were observed in 131 (53%) patients, with the mortality rate being 32%" Solovyov I. Е. The analysis of postoperative complications in colon cancer patients with acute colon obstruction. Онкология 2001; Т.3 №1: 57-61. |
